Trials, scale-up and more

A good solution needs to be proven in practice. The company’s project planning is backed-up by mobile trial units and an innovative laboratory for testing of various process parameters.

The modern equipment at AVA’s test centre offers numerous options for tests on vertical and horizontal mixers, dryers, reactors and evaporation plants.
Heating temperatures up to 400 °C and vacuum down to 1 mbar allow testing of a large spectrum of process conditions.

• Determination of optimal parameters for mixing and drying on vertical or horizontal machines
• Calculation of thermal conductivity values required for the scale-up of dryers, reactors and evaporation plant
• Observation of product behaviour under mechanical and thermal stress
• Determination of economically optimal process conditions

All data from the trials are stored on electronic data storage media and handed out to the customer on the same day. Recorded are all process-relevant parameters, such as product and vapour temperature, pressure, heat transfer media temperature, agitator speed and torque, power consumption and condensate volume. The test results are then used to calculate the scale-up and to design suitable production machines.

For trials of highly active substances or critical solvents clients can rent the trial units and run the tests at their own facilities.
